What is the Knights Annual Fund Campaign?
Launched for the first time this fall 2017, the Knights Annual Fund is St. Thomas More Collegiate’s annual giving campaign that involves an appeal to STMC’s current parents, staff, and board members to make a charitable gift to STMC. Your gift to the Fund enables STMC to continue to provide the best possible transformational learning environment and experience for our young Knights. The Fund also helps STMC accomplish the school's Strategic Plan goals and priorities to make STMC an even better place to be. Other members of the STMC community who wish to support the school by giving to the Knights Annual Fund are most welcome and are greatly appreciated.
Why does STMC have a Knights Annual Fund?
Tuition and government funding alone do not cover the actual cost of the high quality education students receive at St. Thomas More Collegiate. The Knights Annual Fund enables STMC to achieve the school’s Strategic Plan’s curricular and co-curricular goals and provide our students the best possible transformational learning experience and environment to grow and thrive.
How will my gift to the Knights Annual Fund be used?
Your gift to the Knights Annual Fund will help STMC acquire up-to-date teaching and learning tools, develop new and innovative curricular and co-curricular programs, provide staff professional development opportunities, upgrade STMC facilities and support Principal Garland’s vision and priorities. Your gift will fund the current and emerging needs of the school that will help our current students be successful in their pursuit of excellence.
What other sources of revenue does St. Thomas More Collegiate have?
In addition to tuition and government grants, STMC relies on charitable donations to offer the quality program and learning experience our teachers, coaches and mentors provide every day to our students.
Is there donor recognition for gifts to the Knights Annual Fund?
All donors (who have given consent) will be recognized with their names listed in STMC’s annual report and in an annual donor recognition wall in the school's main foyer. A more personalized donor recognition will be given to donors whose gift to the Fund is at $3,000 or more level. Will a charitable donation tax receipt be issued?
Yes, STMC will issue a charitable donation receipt for income tax purposes for all gifts received, in accordance with CRA guidelines. Monthly donors will receive one receipt at tax year-end for all monthly gifts. A 2017 donation receipt will be issued for gifts received on or before December 31, 2017,
How much should I give?
We ask members of our STMC community to make a gift to the Knights Annual Fund at a level that is within their means and what they would consider generous. Gifts may be made now or on a monthly basis by credit card or electronic funds transfer. The Knights Annual Fund 2017 campaign runs from November 2017 to May 2018.
What is the goal of the Knights Annual Fund?
To show commitment to the STMC Strategic Plan goals and priorities, the goal is 100% participation of current parents, STMC staff and board.
